TriMet News: Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office takes command of TriMet’s Transit Police Division

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) will assume command of TriMet’s Transit Police Division following approval of an intergovernmental agreement by the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners today. The first phase of the multi-year agreement will go into effect April 1, 2021, and last until June 30, 2025, with MCSO providing law enforcement direction to the Transit Police Division during this time.
