We’re phasing out paper tickets and the TriMet Tickets app

With every beginning there is an end. And as we expand Hop – adding flexibility for Apple and Android users and converting our ticket machines to Hop — we’re going to be winding down some older payment methods.

After December 31, 2019, we’ll no longer accept unvalidated, foil-stamped paper tickets and passes or mobile tickets from the TriMet Tickets app.

You won’t lose the fares you’ve already purchased. If you have mobile or paper tickets and passes, you can get their value added to a free Hop card.

You can still pay with cash. Buses will continue to take cash on board and you can buy single-use paper Hop tickets at the ticket machines at MAX and WES stations. With Hop, you can reload your card with cash at 500+ convenient retail locations.

Here’s everything you need to know to make the switch to Hop.
