Hop is here, and there's a good reason for TriMet Tickets app users to make the switch:
You can now use Hop with just your phone — no card required!
You'll probably find that paying with your phone is actually easier than using the app. All you need is a debit or credit card loaded into Android Pay, Apple Pay or Samsung Pay.
When you’re ready to board the bus or train, just tap your phone
on the reader — after a split second you’ll
see the green check appear on the reader, and you’re good to go.
It's that easy. And you'll even be able to earn a day pass as you ride, which might be the best thing about Hop. When you pay with your phone, there's no need to buy your
fare in advance or remember to activate your tickets. You don't have to choose between tickets and passes. In fact, you
don’t even need to open an app!
There is one catch: only
Adult fares are available. If you use Honored Citizen or Youth fares,
you’ll want to pick up an actual Hop card.
Next time you ride, skip the app and try paying with your phone — you've just found a new way to pay!
