Service Alert: TriMet service on Friday, Jan. 20
TriMet sent this bulletin at 01/19/2017 03:48 PM PSTDuring Friday’s planned protests, we will continue to provide service into and out of Downtown Portland. However, if protests become violent and unsafe for our riders and employees, we will alter our service and may temporarily suspend it in the downtown core.
Please be prepared for delays and plan extra time tomorrow. If you take TriMet to work or school in downtown Portland Friday morning, we strongly encourage you to head home early. The TriMet Ticket Office, located at Pioneer Courthouse Square, will close at 12 p.m.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding. We'll be updating our Service Alerts page with service information throughout the day, so please check trimet.org/alerts before you go.
If you plan on joining the protests: Please remember that hundreds of thousands of people rely on our transit service daily to get them where they need to go. We respectfully ask those practicing their first amendment rights to not threaten the safety of our riders, operators, other staff and please do not vandalize our equipment. We need our buses, trains, stops and stations in working order to provide vital transit service to the community.
