Office of Small Business Assistance 2019 Annual Report Released
SALEM, OR — Today, the Secretary of State’s Small Business Advocacy Team released their Annual Report looking back on their work during 2019. The report provides insight on questions Oregon businesses raise and the challenges they face relating to government regulation.
The Small Business Advocacy team, within the Secretary of State’s Corporation Division, helps Oregon businesses and nonprofits with 100 or fewer employees. The team, led by Trevor Leahy, help resolve problems, get answers to questions, and navigate Oregon’s regulations at the state and local level. They also connect businesses with technical support in their community.
“Oregon is one of the few states to have a Small Business Advocacy team,” said Secretary of State Bev Clarno. “This is the reason I entered into public service, to help those who are having a difficult time navigating through government regulation, and I am so glad this office is able to serve so many small businesses.”
“Running a small business is tough work and we’re here to help,” said Corporation Division Director and Agency Tribal Liaison Ruth Miles. “We’re fortunate to have a program like this in Oregon.”
“The team is only a phone call, email, or mouse-click away,” said Trevor Leahy, Small Business Ombudsman. The Advocates can be reached at their toll-free number, 1-844-469-5512.
