 The Water Bureau has paused project construction for the Multnomah County remand period. We are continuing activities necessary to protect public health and safety, secure construction sites, and comply with permits, including erosion, sediment, and dust control.

 Temporary single-lane traffic controls include:
Lusted Road (between Hosner Road and Altman Road): Flagged one-way westbound traffic only while crews finish repairs to the road surface early in the week. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Oxbow Drive or Dodge Park Boulevard. School buses and local farm traffic will be flagged through west to east as needed.
What to expect:
- Flaggers and temporary traffic controls to direct traffic
- Local and emergency access will be maintained
- Normal traffic flow outside shift hours
Other wind-down activities for the week beginning March 3, 2025
Staff will be at the project work sites during shift hours to perform various tasks. Work hours will be between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Filtration facility site activities include:
- Completing concrete pour to stabilize trench and avoid a potential safety hazard, including 1-2 days of concrete deliveries
- Ongoing site stormwater management, including inspections, maintenance, and periodic material deliveries
- Ongoing erosion control management, including equipment activity for grading and site stabilization
- Completing earthwork activities to shape, slope, and stabilize stockpiles and excavations
- Survey monitoring for temporary construction structures
- Ongoing site dewatering to protect excavations
- Ongoing equipment maintenance

Demobilizing some construction equipment

Accessing construction trailers to perform administrative work and site safety/security activities

Ongoing 24/7 site security
Finished water pipeline site activities include:
- Additional stabilization of the pipeline construction "caisson" structure for safety, including some excavation and use of cranes and shaft support equipment
- Demobilizing some construction equipment
- Ongoing stormwater management and erosion control
Finished water intertie site activities include:
- Installing some fencing for work site security
- Ongoing stormwater management and erosion control
Raw water tunnel/pipeline site activities include:
Ongoing site safety and 24/7 security activities
- Maintaining work site security
- Monitoring existing work protections
- Continuing dewatering activities to protect excavated areas
- Maintaining stormwater management and erosion control measures

The Bull Run Filtration Project will remove Cryptosporidium and other contaminants from the Bull Run water supply, producing cleaner, safer water for the one million people who use our water now and for future generations. The project is required by the federal Safe Drinking Water Act and must be in operation by September 30, 2027, through a bilateral compliance agreement with the Oregon Health Authority.
