211info is a private, community-based nonprofit organization funded by state and municipal contracts, foundations, donations, and community partners in Oregon and Southwest Washington. One of our close partners, 211, provides valuable social services that callers often seek when reaching out to 311. Frequently, call takers transfer callers to 211 or receive transfers from 211 to assist those who need local government assistance.
The November networking session, hosted by the Community Services Network, shared updates on 211’s services and provided space for community-based organizations to share information and services with 211. Much of the discussion and sharing focused on preparations for the upcoming cold weather and how communities are addressing ice and freezing conditions. 311’s participation highlighted ways local government can assist and how community members can easily reach the City of Portland or Multnomah County by calling 3-1-1.
