Proposed Study Plan comments due next week
There is a week remaining to submit comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on the City of Portland’s Proposed Study Plan. The Proposed Study Plan is available on FERC’s eLibrary under docket number P-2821 and on the Portland Hydroelectric Project website. Comments must be submitted to FERC via FERC Online no later than August 19, 2024.

The City of Portland is the licensee and operator of the Portland Hydroelectric Project (PHP), located about 25 miles east of Portland, Oregon, on the Bull Run River. The City’s existing Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license for the PHP expires in 2029. To continue operating the PHP after 2029, the City is required to complete a 5+ year relicensing process, which it initiated in December 2023.
