Earth Day 2019 at the Oregon Garden was an unqualified success! Over 2,300 visitors graced the Garden April 20th, enjoying the pleasant weather and the amazing activities inside the Grand Hall. Our own Marion County Environmental Services offered visitors an opportunity to learn about composting, how to make their own stenciled reusable cloth bag, and ways to reduce waste. Promoting the theme of "choose reuse," we raffled off a Hydroflask reusable coffee cup every hour to encourage residents to weigh the impact of the choices they make regarding reusable versus disposable.
A dozen Master Recyclers volunteered their time that Saturday to make all of these activities happen. Shout outs to: Brett Milliken, Joe Tillman, Kirk Leonard, Barbara Fuller, Ingrid Stromberg, Dana Smith, Louise McMahan, Angela Moreno, Samuel Leu, McKenna Mikkelson, and Jay Wylie.
Thank you for all your help!
