Dear Friends & Neighbors,
When summer draws to an end many of us scramble to fit in a few more of our treasured good weather activities. I have been lucky enough to enjoy some of our community's great outdoor events in my spare time, including the 5th Annual Buckman Picnic and the Hawthorne Street Fair.
Senator Diane Rosenbaum and staff enjoy the 5th Annual Buckman Picnic at Colonel Summers City Park, with special guests Bambi and Cooper of the Belmont Goats.
One of my favorite events at the end of summer is the Northwest Oregon Labor Council, AFL-CIO Labor Day Picnic. Oregon has a proud labor history, and in 1887 was the first state to designate Labor Day as a holiday. As a lifelong member of my union, the Communications Workers of America, I look forward to this yearly celebration of the contributions of American workers to our country. I hope you can join me at this year's picnic, where thousands of union families and many of Oregon's most prominent leaders will be enjoying the festivities.
Labor Day Picnic Event Details

These are all issues that are sure to come up in the 2015 Legislative Session, and I encourage you to come and add your voice to the conversation.
