Dear Friends and Constituents:

This week students from McLaughlin High School in Milton-Freewater visited the capitol.  Their choir performed  a song for the opening of our daily floor session for the House of Representatives and the Senate Chamber. I am told by folks who have been around the building for a while, that it is rare for choirs to be asked to perform for both chambers on the same day. Their energy and talent was greatly appreciated  by all and I am particularly grateful for the opportunity to have them represent our district.

For the last couple of months, I have been fortunate to have had a great intern in my office. Evan Bryan is a student at Eastern Oregon University and has arranged his schedule to allow him to serve here in Salem. The time has come for him to return to La Grande to complete his studies but selfishly I wish I could have him here longer. I have no doubt that Evan has an extremely bright future and it has truly been a pleasure having him on my staff.

Spring has arrived and it is hard to believe that we are now nearing the end of March. It feels like such a short time ago in January, when I was sworn in as your State Senator and I imagine that the next few months will pass just as quickly. Please feel free to write or contact my office as bills come up that are important to you. It helps us do the best job possible in serving you in your State Capitol.

Below are some pictures of the week.
