Week 2 of the 2025 session!
Oregon State Legislature sent this bulletin at 01/28/2025 10:33 AM PSTDear Neighbors,
Time flies by so quickly we are already at the start of the second week of the 83rd Legislative Assembly! I’ve been so busy learning more about the specifics about how committees’ function, the special lingo used in the various committees I am on, the rules of the house when floor is in session, and how a to get a bill passed into law. I hope this newsletter will be a helpful way to keep you updated on what I’m working on during session.
Best regards,

School District Funding Letter
Recently I signed onto a letter joining 7 other bipartisan legislators urging Speaker Fahey, Senate President Wagner and other legislative leaders to include funding to support wildfire impacted school districts. If additional funding is not set aside for these wildfires affected school districts, then they will have to make significant cuts to their budgets before the end of this school year.
WELCOME TO THE 83RD LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
As we begin the 83rd Legislative Assembly, I invite you to join us in Salem to fight for lower costs for Oregon families. I want government to work for you, not the bureaucracy. Let's work together to make Oregon more affordable, fix our schools, end homelessness, keep our neighborhoods safe, make it easier to build houses, and hold state agencies accountable. This session, we are here to work and fight for YOU.

2025 Oregon House Republican Caucus
It's so important that I hear from you and what matters to you and your family. I want to invite you to join me in Salem to fight for a better future for Oregon and tell the supermajority that they work for YOU. Here are ways you can get involved:
- Learn about how an idea becomes law
- Sign up to testify for a bill
- Call my office or send me an email telling me what is important to you and your family
- Submit written testimony for a bill you support or oppose
- Encourage your friends and family to get involved
- Join me at a townhall or coffee chat in our district
COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS
I am excited to share that this legislative session I will be serving on Behavioral Health and Healthcare, Higher Education and Workforce Development, and the Education Committees. Follow our work in these important committees on the Oregon Legislative Information System website (also known as “OLIS”) here. You can find when our meetings are happening, the agenda for our committee meeting, bills and issues up for discussion, and even sign up for alerts!
We are here to work for you, and I invite you to join us at your Capitol in-person or virtually to watch and I want to personally invite you to testify!
