Message from Rep Daniel Nguyen + 2 meetings on Saturday

Good Morning,

I want to express my support for the House District 38 communities of Lake Oswego, SW Portland, Dunthorpe, and South Portland who have suffered greatly these past two weeks.  It is heartbreaking to see so much destruction. The Lake Oswego community lost a community member in the storm and my heart breaks for his family.  And I know many of you are still working through the aftermath of the multiple storms due to property damage, displacement, and cleanup. 

Our children also lost several instructional days causing uncertainty and unrest.  Markham Elementary in SW Portland is looking at an extended closure due to storm damage to their building.  This is an incredible disruption to the lives of the children, families and staff across the community.    

During this time, I know many of you have questions and comments.  To that end, I have two meetings scheduled this coming Saturday, January 27^th:

 

Public Meeting for the Markham Elementary and Robert Gray Middle School Communities

Hosted by Representative Daniel Nguyen and State Representative Dacia Grayber

We will have PPS School Board Member, Andrew Scott and PPS Chief of Staff, Jonathan Garcia and Robert Gray Middle School Principal Lisa Newlyn.

*This meeting will be focused solely on the immediate needs of the Markham Elementary and Robert Gray Middle School communities.
