Friends, 

We need to come together to create collaborative solutions for e-bike safety. What I’m hearing from the community right now is that the guidelines and rules around e-bikes aren't clear, and they aren't working: bikes on the sidewalks, unclear guidelines on age, helmets, and a murky legal framework. 

Let’s roll up our sleeves together, so we can develop ideas that allow us to be multi-modal and safely share the road. 

In coordination with the leadership of Bend City Councilor Perkins, the City of Bend, the Bend Police Department, and many other community leaders, I will be hosting a conversation about e-bike safety and regulations in our community. Where are the gaps in policy? What can the City and community do to avoid future accidents? Let's talk about it.
