Time-Sensitive: Hall Blvd hearing scheduled! (And how you can help)
Oregon State Legislature sent this bulletin at 05/02/2023 11:48 AM PDT
Friends,
Yesterday, we found out that my bill on Hall Boulevard (House Bill 2756) will have a public hearing this Thursday, May 4. We need the community’s help to show to the Transportation Committee that Hall Boulevard is a significant safety concern and that we need it to be repaired.
To make your voice heard, you can submit written testimony on OLIS (Oregon Legislative Information System) using this link: SUBMIT WRITTEN TESTIMONY.
We recommend that your letter address your experiences on Hall, your safety concerns about the current condition of the road, and a request that the committee please pass House Bill 2756 to make critical improvements. It can be brief.
Here’s an example letter for your convenience (we recommend you personalize it with your own perspective, experiences, etc.):
Dear members of the Joint Transportation Committee,
My name is _________ and I am a resident of Tigard.
Hall Boulevard is a dangerous road in my community. Hall has poor road surface conditions, potholes, and no sidewalks or crosswalks in places that there should be. Multiple people have been struck on Hall. It’s unsafe for drivers, pedestrians, bikers, and most importantly, the children who use Hall to get to school. These kids are being put in unnecessary danger just to get an education. This is unacceptable.
Tigard is willing to do their part to help improve Hall Boulevard, and it’s time that the state fulfill its obligations. After years of neglect to the detriment of our community, we deserve a safe road for all users. To make this happen we need you to pass House Bill 2756 to fix Hall and give it to the people who actually use it.
Please pass House Bill 2756 to make Hall Boulevard safer. Thank you for your consideration.
If you would like help or have any questions about how to submit written testimony, please call my office at (503) 986-1425 and my staff will help walk you through the process to make your voice heard.

Thank you so much for all your help. As I’ve said before, I wish there was a faster and easier way to get this road improved, but there isn’t. The decision makers need to hear from our community. Please remember to submit your testimony by this Thursday, May 4th at 5:00pm to support a better, safer Hall for All!
Best,
