Friends,
I hope you all had a peaceful Thanksgiving holiday weekend with your loved ones. I’m writing today to share important information on Governor Kate Brown’s most recent framework for COVID-19 response and prevention issued last week, corresponding with what comes after the recent Two-Week Freeze.
Starting today, December 2, the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has developed a new framework focusing on positive COVID-19 positive tests and other metrics related to the spread of COVID-19. OHA has created four risk levels – low, moderate, high and extreme – by which they will classify each of Oregon’s 36 counties based on their metrics.

Oregon COVID-19 Counties & Risk Levels Map:
The map above reflects the most recent classification of Oregon Counties relating to the new COVID-19 response metrics. OHA will revisit the data by Friday, December 17 and make the necessary adjustments according to the information above. Counties that continue to show improvements will incrementally move into lower risk categories until they are in the lowest category. The Governor’s office and OHA have been adamant to say that at every level, health and safety precautions will remain in place so that schools, businesses and communities can reopen, and stay open.
I know this year has been a trying time for all of us and we’re all doing our best to adapt to the changing rules and regulations put in place across Oregon. We must continue to work together and stay united to help those who have been impacted more than others during this pandemic and do our best to support our local businesses and organizations that have been impacted the most by the limitations placed on Oregon’s economy. We will be sharing information and resources for how you can provide additional help, or where you can go to find it if you are in need of more support during this time.
As Oregonians, we have proven this year that we are resilient, and we will make it through this. We will continue to keep you updated regularly as new information is made available, and if there is anything we can do or any questions we can try to answer, please reach out to our office at (503) 986-1730.
Sincerely,
Lynn P. Findley
Oregon State Senator, District 30
