COVID-19 & Our Collective Responsibility to Act

Representative Andrea Salinas

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I encourage you to read this op-ed from the Oregon Health Authority Director Pat Allen. He calls us to action because we all play a critical role in protecting the health of our neighbors, community, and health care system during the coronavirus crisis. I understand how some might believe this problem is distant, but this is a global pandemic, and now is exactly the time we must all take action in our individual lives. By taking the social distancing recommendations seriously, we will literally save lives and mitigate the worst impacts of this disease. I believe that together as Oregonians, we will all rise to the occasion to do our part—and then some.

You can read Director Allen's op-ed, "We have the power to slow COVID-19 in Oregon," here: https://www.oregonlive.com/opinion/2020/03/opinion-we-have-the-power-to-slow-covid-19-in-oregon.html

I also want to thank the Oregonians who are on the frontlines of this outbreak and working around the clock to help patients, stock our grocery stores, and provide necessary services to keep our cities running. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or comments regarding the response to COVID-19.

Be safe, be well, and take care of one another.

Warmly,

Signature
