2nd Week of Session Update!

Jack Zika

2nd week is in the books!

Hello Friends,

We just wrapped up our second week of the 2019 Legislative Session! It has been a busy week here at the Capitol but I've enjoyed every second of it.

Throughout my committees this week, we have heard from various agency heads and key stakeholders come and testify regarding funding requests, economic projections, and other various reports from groups. For example, during the Human Services and Housing Committee, we discussed the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program (TANF) and making a technical fix to specify benefits for low-income families. We should be hearing many more bills up for public hearings in the next couple of weeks.

Furthermore, I appreciate everyone taking the time to send me mail, emails, and calls regarding important topics like housing, health care, and taxes. As your duly elected State Representative, I will always take the time to understand both sides before making an informed decision.

If you'd like to come testify on a bill in the future, click here for further details. As always, please reach out to my office at (503)986-1453 for any additional questions or thoughts you may have.

Yours truly,

Representative Jack ZIka
