New Capitol Virtual Tour Launched 

     The Oregon State Capitol and Capitol History Gateway team are excited to announce the launch of a new 360 degree virtual tour. This tour will be accessible 24/7 from anywhere connected to the internet.     
     On a mobile device, access www.orcapitoltour.com, on a desktop computer access www.oregoncapitol.com. The tour will allow anyone easy access to the rich history, the magnificent art and architecture, and the story of the legislative process at the Oregon State Capitol.
    This project is brought to you and funded by the Capitol History Gateway, a project of the Oregon State Capitol Foundation.

Capitol Tower Tours Open July 6

     This fall the Oregon Pioneer is turning 80 and we are planning a celebration! Look for details in the next Gateway newsletter. This month we are cleaning the observation tower and applying a waterproofing seal to preserve his "perch," so tower tours will open July 6.
    Tower tours are scheduled Monday through Friday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. These tours are weather permitting and capacity controlled. For more information call Visitor Services at 503-986-1388 or visit events at www.oregoncapitol.com

Summer Concert Announced

     The Oregon State Capitol Foundation Summer Concert Series has slated a concert in the Capitol Mall on Saturday, July 21 starting at 11 a.m. 

     The Salem Philharmonia Orchestra will be accompanied by the Willamette Valley Symphony and joined by three magnificent vocalists all performing show tunes of popular musicals. 
     This is a free and open concert. Please plan to pack a picnic and join us on the lawn! 
     The Capitol will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.offering tours to the Oregon Pioneer.

Gilbert House

Gilbert House Hosts Summer Block Party Monday, June 25

     Oregon State Capitol volunteers will be staffing a booth at the Summer Block Party at the Gilbert House Museum on Monday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  
     This event is free to the public including free admission to the Gilbert House Museum.
    The Summer Block Party is held annually to kick off summer learning and the Capitol is excited to be a part of it. We hope you can join us!
