Clear Sight of the Light Before Proceeding
Have you ever had the experience where the light was green as you approached the intersection and then the large truck in front of you blocked your view of the traffic light? Is it still green? Better hold back to be sure.
As a driver, you are responsible to make sure it's safe to proceed through an intersection, even on a green light. And remember, a yellow light doesn't mean speed up to get through. Please wait for clear sight of the light!
A citation for violating ORS 811.265 is $265.
