Washington County Law Enforcement in Partnership with the Oregon Department of Justice Launch SPIRE
SPIRE - Special Projects: Investigate, Respond, Enforce - is a first-of-its-kind statewide pilot program, designed to take on complex criminal activity that crosses jurisdictions and benefits from a coordinated, multi-agency response.
All law enforcement agencies in Washington County, including Hillsboro Police, will participate in the program.

Mixed In are Scammers Looking to Cash-In on Your Generosity
Protect yourself with these important steps:
-
Seek out the charity of your choice. Don’t rely on individuals who solicit you at your door, phone, email or social media.
-
Learn about the charities you want to donate to. CharityNavigator.org, GuideStar.org, and Give.org are great resources.
-
Use a credit card or check. Make checks payable to the charitable organization, not an individual. Never wire money, buy gift cards or give cash donations.

Don't Drink & Drive - Make a Plan for Getting Home Safely
.08 percent or higher is legally under the influence in Oregon. If you're arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) and fail the breath test, you automatically lose your driver's license for at least 90 days; refuse the breath test and you'll lose it for at least a year.
But be warned - You can also face legal consequences if you blow below a .08. Impairment often begins before that, affecting your judgement and reaction time. It's not just alcohol, though. Using drugs, even prescription medications, can also impair your ability to drive safely. And impaired driving dramatically increases your chances of crashing.
Save your life and the innocent lives of those on the road.
- Designate a driver.
- Call family or a friend.
- Take transit.
- Use ride share or a taxi.
- Stay the night.
-
OR choose NOT to drink.
