Engage with Us: Community Survey
Hillsboro Fire & Rescue is working to develop a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) to help our City be more resilient to wildfires.
Our plan will be based on the needs of the community and will help address issues such as wildfire response, hazard mitigation, community preparedness, and structure protection.

Safety Reminder: Child Passenger Laws
Oregon law requires children who weigh more than 40 pounds to use a booster seat until they are at least 8 years old or they are 4’9” tall, AND the adult seat belt fits them correctly.
-
If an adult seat belt does not fit them properly, a child should continue to use a booster seat, even if they are older than age 8.
A booster seat ensures the adult lap and shoulder belts fit correctly, reducing injury risk in a crash.
Never use a booster with only a lap belt.

Multi-Family Landlord Fire Safety Training
Last month, nearly 40 property managers and staff of multi-family housing apartment complexes came together for a free fire safety training hosted by Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, Clackamas Fire District #1 and Red Cross Cascades Region.
Participants learned about the basics of fire, common fire causes, fire and life safety inspections, the fire investigation process, youth fire intervention, and landlord responsibilities to help ensure safer communities and help those displaced by fire.
Attendees also got to participate in hands-only CPR and fire extinguisher demonstrations.
