Stutz Pumper Turns 100, New Engine In-Service

Hillsboro Fire & Rescue celebrated 100 years of history with a commemoration and in-servicing event honoring our oldest apparatus, the 1924 Stutz Pumper, and our newest engine to join the fleet, Engine 1.

Although a lot has changed in 100 years, we remain committed to providing the highest level of quality emergency and risk reduction services to our growing community.

Hillsboro resident, Sean Walkenhorst, shares his story of cardiac arrest survival and encourages everyone to learn CPR because you can save a life with two simple steps: Call 911 and start Hands-Only CPR by pushing hard and fast in the center of the chest for at least 100 beats per minute.

Did you know home heating equipment is a leading cause of home fire deaths and that nearly half of home heating equipment fires are reported during the months of December, January and February?
