Equitable Services Webinars available in October 2023
The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is excited to announce a partnership with the Federal Education Group to provide three free equitable service webinars. All private school leaders, public school administrative staff and ODE partners who work with equitable service programs under ESEA or IDEA federal programs are invited to attend these webinars.
Please pre-register for the webinars which will occur from 9:00am - 10:30am on the following Tuesdays: October 10th, 17th and 24th. Recordings and materials will be available for each presentation. When you register, you will have the opportunity to submit questions that we will do our best to address after the presentation.
Each webinar will begin with a 60 minute presentation which will then be followed by a 30 minute question/answer session. The topics to be covered during each presentation are as follows:
Tuesday, October 10th: Introduction to ESEA Equitable Services
- Identifying where the rules governing ESEA equitable services come from
- Identifying which programs are subject to equitable services requirements
- Key roles and responsibilities for SEAs, LEAs and nonpublic school officials
- Timely and meaningful consultation
- Dispute resolution

- How to calculate the Title I set-aside
- How to calculate the set-aside for other ESEA programs
- What makes services equitable
- What kinds of services ESEA programs can support (with priority on Title I-A, Title II-A, Title III-A and Title IV-A)
