Night lifts and lane closures coming to the Interstate Bridge

Night lifts, lane closures for the Interstate Bridge
Crews will grease six miles of cable and conduct other routine maintenance chores
Bridge lifts and lane closures are coming to the Interstate Bridge over the next two weekends for a series of maintenance projects.
The work will include general maintenance as well as cable greasing. Regular maintenance of the bridge includes greasing the six miles of cables on both the northbound and southbound spans.
Here is the schedule.

10 p.m. Friday July 11 to 8 a.m. Saturday July 12 both spans of the Interstate Bridge will see bridge lifts of up to 20 minutes while crews grease cables.

10 p.m. Saturday July 12 to 8 a.m. Sunday July 13 both spans of the Interstate Bridge will see bridge lifts of up to 20 minutes while crews grease cables.

11 p.m. Friday July 18 to 8 a.m. Saturday July 19 the center lane and right lane of the northbound span will be closed for inspection, electrical work and pothole repairs. The on-ramp to northbound Interstate 5 from Hayden Island will also be closed.

11 p.m. Saturday July 19 to 8 a.m. Sunday July 20 the center lane and left lane of the northbound span will be closed for inspection, electrical work and pothole repairs. The on-ramp to northbound Interstate 5 from Hayden Island will also be closed.
The Interstate Bridge carries I-5 over the Columbia River. The northbound span opened in 1917 and the southbound span in 1958.
