Paving project to restrict lanes on OR 58 at Salt Creek Tunnel

 

OAKRIDGE— Pavement repairs will restrict travel to a single lane near the OR 58: Salt Creek Tunnel (Willamette Hwy., milepost 56) on Friday, October 25, 2013.

 

Beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until 6 p.m. travel will be controlled in alternating directions by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should anticipate 10 to 20 minute delays.

 

The project will apply a two-inch pavement overlay on the west side of the tunnel and smooth the pavement on the east side of the tunnel.

 

The repairs are necessary to provide a smoother and safer pavement condition for winter travel.

 

The OR 58: Salt Creek Tunnel and Half Viaduct project will resume construction in spring, 2014.
