Interstate 5 at the Iowa Street Viaduct
Project Description: This project replaces a viaduct on I-5 that crosses a ravine at SW Iowa Street, between Terwilliger Boulevard (exit 297) and Corbett Avenue (exit 298) in Portland, and includes building a temporary detour bridge on the west side of I-5.
Traffic Impacts: The north and southbound left lanes of I-5 in the project area will be closed from 7:30 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday night to move concrete barrier.
The speed limit on I-5 is reduced to 50 mph in the work area. This speed reduction is in effect 24 hours a day and will remain in place for the duration of the project. Please be alert to enhanced police traffic patrols in the work area.

Interstate 5 Wilsonville Road Interchange
Project Description: Work is under way on a project to improve safety on Wilsonville Road at the I-5 interchange. The contractor will expand Wilsonville Road from six to eight lanes near the I-5 interchange, improve the I-5 on- and off-ramps, and add landscaping and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
Traffic Impacts: None anticipated this week. This project is nearly complete. For more information: www.i5wilsonvilleroad.org/
Interstate 84, Interstate 5 to Interstate 205
Project Description: This project will grind and pave all lanes on I-84 between I-5 and I- 205, pave most of the on and off ramps, replace freeway signage, restripe the I-84 westbound merge with I-5 and pave and repair the NE Halsey Street overpass at 82nd Avenue and I-84.
Traffic Impacts: Finishing work continues on I-84 in both the east bound and west bound lanes on Monday through Friday nights. On some evenings striping will be done by moving vehicles that may cause slowing at various points and on other nights lanes and or ramps may be closed. Work will always be completed by 5 a.m. the next morning. Motorists using I-84 in the evening and early morning hours should plan on extra time in case of delays until project completion in the next few weeks.

Interstate 84 Eastbound, Halsey Street (Exit 7) to I-205 Northbound (Exit 8)
Project Description: This project will improve congestion and safety by adding a new lane to the two-lane section of I-84 eastbound between Halsey Street (exit 7) and I-205 northbound (exit 8) to aid in merging and exiting.
Traffic Impacts: The Halsey St. overpass and ramp will be closed for a couple of hours on Wednesday night for permanent striping. A signed detour will in place.

Interstate 84 Westbound near NE 223rd Fairview Avenue
Project Description: This project will install a new electronic variable message sign on I-84 westbound near NE 223rd/Fairview Parkway in Fairview.
Traffic Impacts: There will be occasional daytime shoulder closures this week for various work activities.
Interstate 84 at 257th Avenue/Marine Drive (exit 17)
Project Description: This project will install new electronic variable message signs on 257th Avenue just north of the factory outlet mall and on Marine Drive just north of the North Frontage Road in Troutdale. The new signs will help alert motorists to traffic problems on I-84 before they get on the freeway.
Traffic Impacts: There will be occasional daytime and nighttime single lane closures on Marine Drive southbound, just north of the North Frontage Road for various work activities.
The sidewalk on the east side of 257th Avenue north of the factory outlet mall will be closed during the day for electrical work and installation of erosion control devices. Pedestrians will be detoured across to the west side of 257th Avenue while construction work is occurring.
Interstate 84 at the Sandy River and Jordan Road Bridges
Project Description: This project replaces two bridges on I-84 over the Sandy River east of exit 17 in Troutdale, and repairs two bridges over Jordan Road east of the Sandy River at exit 18.
Traffic Impacts: Traffic on I-84 has been shifted to a new temporary alignment and the speed limit is reduced to 50 mph. Watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the freeway on I-84 westbound. Expect alternating one-way traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals and watch for daytime lane closures with flaggers directing traffic on Jordan Road at I-84. The vertical clearance on Jordan Road under the overpass has been reduced to 14 feet, 9 inches. Please follow parking restrictions in this area. Sandy River users can expect work crews near and in the waterway. Approach the work area with caution, stay clear of construction activities and obey instructions.

Interstate 84 at Multnomah Falls
Project Description: This project will install a new parking management system, which includes an automated gate at Multnomah Falls that will help prevent traffic from backing up onto I-84 when the parking lot is full during busy weekends. The project will also install lighting in the parking lot.
Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts. Motorists can expect to see the parking lot lighting continuously on day and night for several days for testing.
Interstate 84: Historic Columbia River Highway Trail, John B. Yeon State Park to Moffett Creek
Project Description: This project constructs a new 1.6-mile section of the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail adjacent to I-84, between John B. Yeon State Park and Moffett Creek.
Traffic Impacts: The right lane of I-84 eastbound near exit 37 and the right or left lane of I-84 westbound at milepost 39 will close intermittently for various construction activities from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Interstate 84: Exit 35 (Dodson/Ainsworth State Park) to Exit 44 (Cascade Locks/Bridge of the Gods)
Project Description: This project will replace the driving surface on four bridges on I-84 between exit 35 (Dodson/Ainsworth State Park) and exit 44 (Cascade Locks/Bridge of the Gods) in the Bonneville Dam area. The bridges being resurfaced are:
• I-84 westbound at Dodson, just west of exit 35
• I-84 eastbound at Dodson, just west of exit 35
Traffic Impacts: The right and left lanes of I-84 eastbound near exit 35 and the right or left lane of I-84 westbound at milepost 35 will close intermittently for various construction activities from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. During closures of the east bound off-ramp to Dodson/Ainsworth and the I-84 west bound on-ramp from Dodson/Ainsworth, a detour will be in place.
Interstate 205 NE Airport Way Interchange
Project Description: This project will help improve traffic flow at this busy interchange by constructing a new free-flowing on-ramp from Airport Way westbound onto I-205 northbound. Motorists on Airport Way eastbound will have two left turn lanes onto I-205 northbound and will no longer have to share signal time with westbound motorists on Airport Way.
Traffic Impacts: This week, motorists can expect daytime single lane closures on Airport Way in both directions at the I-205 ramps from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
There may also be occasional daytime short-duration closures of the I-205 multi-use bike/pedestrian path on the north side of Airport Way, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for construction work next to the path. Flaggers will stop trail users for no more than 20 minutes at a time.

Interstate 205 Multi-Use Path at SE Division Street
Project Description: This project will build a new section of the I-205 Multi-Use Path that will split off from the existing path approximately 360 feet north of SE Division Street, cross under Division Street next to the MAX Green Line and reconnect with the multi-use path at the north end of the Division Street Max stop. This new route will offer path users a non-stop connection through Division Street, without the need to wait for the signal at the crosswalk.
Traffic Impacts: There will be intermittent daytime delays to path users while the contractor installs new signs on the shared use path between Airport Way and Sunnyside Rd. Path users should use caution when traveling through the construction site. Flaggers may be present to ensure the safety of path users.

U.S. 26 (SW Kelly Avenue), SW 1st Avenue to the Ross Island Bridge
Project Description: This project will replace the concrete pavement on the southbound Ross Island Way ramp from SW Arthur Street to the Ross Island Bridge, and make various bicycle and pedestrian safety improvements along SW Kelly Avenue on the west side of the Ross Island Bridge adjacent to the National College of Natural Medicine.
Traffic Impacts: There will be random lane closures on Highway 26 (S.W. Kelly) from the Ross Island Bridge to Naito Parkway for road grinding and paving Monday thru Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m..

U.S. 26 (Outer S.E. Powell Blvd.) S.E. 111th Ave. to S.E. 174th Ave.
Project Description: The project includes safety upgrades and new pavement. The work includes:
• Traffic signal upgrades to reduce crashes.
• New curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities standards.
• New pedestrian signals
• Three new crosswalks with rapid flash beacons at Southeast 119th, 141st and 156th Avenues.
• An eight-foot shoulder through the corridor.
The project, which began July 8, 2013, will be completed in mid-October, 2013.
Traffic Impacts: During daytime hours, there will be shoulder and bike lane closures at various intersections in order to construct new American’s With Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps. Electricians will also work in the shoulders to install new signal equipment.
During night time hours, various intersections will close to one lane only in each direction in order to demolish the existing ramps. Flaggers will direct traffic at affected intersections.
U.S. 26 (Sunset Highway), NW Cornell Road to NW 185th Avenue
Project Description: This project widened U.S. 26 between NW Cornell Road and NW 185th Avenue in Beaverton to three lanes in each direction, added median cable barrier and widened the shoulders.
Traffic Impacts: This project is complete. However, there may be lane closures on U.S. 26 around the Bethany Boulevard overpass as part of a separate project being built by Washington County. Please call 503-846-ROAD/7623 for more information about that project, or visit www.wc-roads.com.
U.S. 26 (Sunset Highway), Multiple Locations
Project Description: This project will install new electronic variable message signs at the following locations:
• U.S. 26 eastbound between NW Cornelius Pass Road (exit 62) and NW 185th Avenue (exit 64) in Hillsboro.
• U.S. 26 westbound between NW Bethany Boulevard/Cornell Road (exit 65) and NW 185th Avenue (exit 64) east of Hillsboro.
Traffic Impacts: There will be occasional daytime shoulder closures this week for various work activities.
U.S. 26 (Sunset Highway) Glencoe Road Interchange
Project Description: This project replaces the Glencoe Road overpass at U.S. 26 in North Plains and improves the highway ramps, bicycle and pedestrian connections, signs, traffic signals, striping and drainage at this interchange. A culvert under Glencoe Road will also be replaced with a bridge.
Traffic Impacts: Traffic on Glencoe Road and the ramps to U.S. 26 may be stopped for up to 20 minutes at a time (between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next morning) while new traffic signals are installed. The exact date for installation has not been determined so motorists are advised to prepare for short delays all week.

U.S. 26 (Sunset Highway) at the W. Fork Dairy Creek Bridge
Project Description: This project will replace the bridge on U.S. 26 over W. Fork Dairy Creek, approximately 1 mile east of OR 47/Staley’s Junction near Banks. A temporary bridge will be built to the north of the existing bridge for U.S. 26 traffic to use as a detour, allowing the highway to remain open during construction.
Traffic Impacts: Motorists can expect daytime occasional single lane traffic controlled by flaggers allowing dump trucks on and off the road.

U.S. 30 (NW St. Helens Road) at NW Cornelius Pass Road
Project Description: This project will improve safety and mobility at this intersection by adding a longer dedicated right turn lane from U.S. 30 eastbound onto Cornelius Pass Road, adding dedicated right and left turn lanes from Cornelius Road onto U.S. 30, upgrading the traffic signals and signs and making some bike/pedestrian improvements.
Traffic Impacts: The shoulder on eastbound U.S. 30 and the new right turn lane to Cornelius Pass Road will be closed – however, motorists can still turn right onto Cornelius Pass Rd. There may be occasional lane closures of the right west bound lane for utility work. A traffic light and concrete island are being installed and motorists should be prepared for delays and use caution while workers install the traffic light.

Oregon Highway 8 (TV Highway), Minter Bridge Road to 331st Avenue
Project Description: ODOT and City of Hillsboro are partnering on a paving and utility improvement project on Tualatin Valley Highway (OR 8) between Minter Bridge Road and 331st Avenue. Work on TV Highway involves grinding, reconstructing, paving and restriping; significantly upgrading the City’s water and storm water systems; improving more than 100 ADA ramps (accessible curb ramps); and repairing and paving the Dairy Creek Bridge.
Traffic Impacts: All week, there will be intermittent daytime lane closures on TV Highway/Baseline Street/Oak from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday for installation of erosion control devices and utility work. Paving work will continue on the east and west ends of the project at night. This work will take place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., for the next 1-2 weeks, with construction noise and single lane closures. Flaggers will direct traffic. There will be some intermittent utility work at night on Baseline and Oak. In the evening, there will be up to 20-minute delays at driveways and intersections in paving areas. Walnut Street may be a good detour route for the eastern section of this work area. Work is also starting the downtown area. Work on water lines will be done on Baseline and Oak Streets between SE 10th and Dennis Avenues over the next year.

Oregon Highway 99E (SE Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard), SE Division Street to SE Woodward Avenue
Project Description: This project will pave and adjust manhole covers on the on-ramp from SE Ivon Street/SE 4th Place onto the OR 99E (Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard) southbound viaduct, and complete landscaping within the planter along the center median.
Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts
Oregon Highway 99W (SW Barbur Boulevard) Southbound at Taylors Ferry Road
Project Description: This project will install a new electronic variable message sign on SW Barbur Boulevard southbound (OR 99W), just north of Taylors Ferry Road near the Barbur Transit Center in Portland.
Traffic Impacts: There may be occasional daytime sidewalk closures for various work activities. A signed pedestrian detour will be in place, as needed. There may be intermittent nighttime lanes closure on OR 99W for installation of a new electronic variable message sign.
Oregon Highway 99W (Pacific Highway), S.W. 72nd to Oregon 217
Project Description: The required road improvements include widening OR 99W southbound to include a new lane, new sidewalk, a landscaped center median, and widening part of the OR 217 northbound off-ramp to S.W. 72nd Avenue.
This construction project will be done by a private contractor and is required by the City of Tigard for the development of a WalMart store on Dartmouth Avenue along OR 99W. A contractor for WalMart will make the required road improvements. Lanes will not close during daytime hours.
Traffic Impacts: Possible lane closures at night on OR 99W between OR 217 and SW 72nd Avenue and the OR 217 northbound off-ramp to SW 72nd Avenue.

Oregon Highway 99W (Pacific Highway) at Beef Bend Road
Project Description: This safety project will widen OR 99W at Beef Bend Road in Tigard/King City in order to build a dedicated right turn lane for southbound motorists.
Traffic Impacts: Motorists will experience brief traffic delays and lane closures at night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for cutting signal loops and other traffic signal work and striping. This night work will occur Monday through Friday on 99W. During the day, motorists can expect intermittent work on the shoulder to install guardrail and shoulder rock. Bicyclists and pedestrians using the trail near Beef Bend Road should use caution and watch for equipment and construction activities along the path. .

Oregon Highway 99W (Pacific Highway), Tualatin River Bridge to Sunset Boulevard
Project Description: This project will grind off the old pavement, repave and restripe OR 99W in both directions between the Tualatin River Bridge in King City and Sunset Boulevard in Sherwood.
Traffic Impacts: Nighttime lane closures are planned on OR 99W in both directions in the project area all week from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Oregon Highway 99W (Pacific Highway), SW Tualatin-Sherwood Road to SW Sunset Boulevard
Project Description: This project will install a new electronic variable message sign on OR 99W northbound at Cedar Creek, and install four new traffic cameras on OR 99W in at Tualatin-Sherwood Road, Edy Road, Meinecke Road and Sunset Boulevard in Sherwood.
Traffic Impacts: Expect occasional daytime shoulder closures this week for various work activities.
Oregon Highway 217 (Beaverton-Tigard Highway), U.S. 26 to I-5
Project Description: This project will make operational and safety improvements on OR 217, including widening the right shoulders on three sections of OR 217, paving both directions of OR 217 from U.S 26 to I-5, improving signage in the OR 217 corridor, and upgrading the center median barrier.
Traffic Impacts: Ongoing lane, shoulder, and ramp closures will take place both northbound and southbound at night 8:00 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for roadway grinding and paving, sign installation, guard rail installation, and various other work. There will be ongoing shoulder work during the day. Motorists using Oregon 217 in the evening and early morning hours should plan on extra time in case of delays until project completion.

Oregon Highway 224 (Milwaukie Expressway), S.E. 17th Ave. to east of S.E. Oak St.
Project Description: This project will remove and replace all the light poles and underground electrical conduit on a one-mile section of OR 224 in both directions between SE 17th Avenue and east of SE Oak Street in Milwaukie.
Traffic Impacts: The right east bound lane of Highway 224 from S.E. 17th to S.E. Monroe St. will be closed Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Historic Columbia River Highway (U.S. 30), Troutdale Bridge to Dabney State Park
Project Description: This project will replace seven sections of old guardrail on the
Historic Columbia River Highway between the Troutdale Bridge over the Sandy River and Dabney State Park. The new guardrail will look just like the historic, white double-rail sections that are being replaced.
Traffic Impacts: Motorists can expect daytime lane closures with flaggers directing traffic and short delays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, for guardrail replacement.
Historic Columbia River Highway (U.S. 30) at the Crown Point Viaduct
Project Description: The Federal Highway Administration is repairing the Crown Point Viaduct and restoring the pavement and historic features along the Historic Columbia River Highway between Larch Mountain Road and Latourell Falls.
Traffic Impacts: The Historic Columbia River Highway and the Vista House is currently open. Travelers can expect occasional daytime lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with flaggers directing traffic and up to 30-minute delays, Monday through Thursday.

Electronic Message Sign Replacement Project (Various Highways)
Project Description: Work is starting on a project to replace eight electronic message boards on various highways in the Portland Metro Area. These signs provide travelers with information relating to road conditions.
