nighttime OR99E viaduct closures in Portland
Oregon Department of Transportation sent this bulletin at 04/22/2011 11:21 AM PDTThe Motor Carrier Transportation Division is sending restriction notices to all holders of annual over-dimension permits advising of the nighttime closure of two viaduct bridges in Portland in the coming months.
Beginning May 5, 2011, and extending to August 31, the Union Avenue Viaduct Bridge at MP 1.50 on southbound OR99E/Martin Luther King Boulevard AND the Grand Avenue Viaduct Bridge at MP 1.50 on northbound OR99E/Grand Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday while workers install new lights, concrete traffic barriers, and steel rails, and pave and stripe the road.
- During the Union Avenue Viaduct closures, the signed detour for southbound OR99E traffic will be to turn right on SE Mill Street, left on SE 3rd Avenue and merge onto SE Division Street, turn right onto 8th Street and right onto SE Division Place, turn left onto SE 4th Place, left onto SE Ivon Place, right onto SE Grand Place, and merge onto SE McGloughlin Blvd/OR99E.
- During the Grand Avenue Viaduct closures, the signed detour for northbound OR99E traffic will be to use OR99E/McGloughlin Boulevard, turn right on SE Woodward Avenue, left on SE 8th Avenue, left on SE Division Street, right on SE 7th Avenue, left on SE Clay Street, and then right on Grand Avenue.
