Preparing for a Mobility Advisory Committee Meeting, ODOT
December 11; 10:00 am - 12:00 pm: live webinar
The purpose of the Mobility Advisory Committee (MAC) is to review and provide feedback on agency projects through the lens of mobility and work zone safety as it applies to both temporary and permanent impacts. The MAC recently adopted a charter that outlines the committee’s roles and responsibilities, project review criteria and mobility meeting guidelines. This course will prepare you for these meetings by covering when you may need to present to the MAC, guidelines and resources, as well as the project review criteria. Register on Workday Learning. Mobility: Understanding Oregon's Critical Route Pairs, ODOT

An important concept that affects mobility coordination when planning temporary work zone restrictions is Critical Route Pairs. This course explains what these paired routes are and why it is important to ensure they are not concurrently restricted. The ODOT Construction Training Program recently released the 2024-2025 training schedule. If you need to obtain an inspection certification or recertification, training dates begin in November! Classes often fill quickly, so reserve your spot soon.

Contract Administration Core Curriculum, NHI/FHWA
April 8-9 and April 10-11; all day: Salem location TBD
Registration now open! On April 8-9 and April 10-11, 2025, ODOT will be hosting FHWA’s National Highway Institute Contract Administration Core Curriculum training. This course is required for Certified Local Public Agency staff working on federal-aid projects. Seats are limited, so we recommend registering as soon as possible. Register via Workday Learning. Fundamentals of Environmental Justice, NHI/FHWA
Self-paced virtual training
Fundamentals of Environmental Justice explains how environmental justice, or EJ, applies to each stage of transportation decision making. The US Department of Transportation, or US DOT, and its partners are committed to integrating the principles of EJ and nondiscrimination into all Federal programs and activities. In this course, participants are presented with a variety of strategies and resources for considering EJ throughout the transportation decision-making process. The target audience consists of transportation practitioners (entry-level to senior-level) employed at a range of organizations, including State Departments of Transportation, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, local transportation agencies, and consulting firms. Contract Administration Training Certificate, DAS Procurement

Did you know project staff working on consultant selection procurements for federal-aid projects are required to complete the DAS Contract Administration Training Certificate? If you haven’t taken this course, or haven’t taken it recently, we recommend taking this course in Workday Learning. The DAS Contract Administration Training Certificate consists of 11 self-paced modules and provides basic procurement training necessary for administering public contracts. Questions? FHWA Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Discretionary Grants Guidance
FHWA and ODOT recently partnered to provide information to local agencies about steps to take before applying for discretionary grants under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).

AASHTOWare Project and Oregon Buys
When ODOT Office of Equity & Civil Rights implements the new AASHTOWare system for collecting civil rights data, all prime contractors and subcontractors will be required to have an account in OregonBuys. Registering in OregonBuys assigns a unique identifier to each contractor to ensure data can be tracked across all ODOT and local agency projects. We encourage you to talk to your contractors about signing up for OregonBuys in advance of AASHTOWare implementation. Questions? Contact ODOT Certification.
