Adventures in Crowdsourcing: Work Zone Data & Crowdsourcing, FHWA

The Federal Highway Administration’s Every Day Counts Round 6 (FHWA EDC-6) Crowdsourcing for Advancing Operations Innovation brings you the Adventures in Crowdsourcing webinar series to highlight innovative applications of crowdsourced data and to share crowdsourcing building blocks that will help agencies garner the greatest value from crowdsourced data.
This webinar will feature two agencies that are using multiple crowdsourced data to better plan for and monitor work zones. One has developed in-house tools, while a second is leveraging a data analytics provider to meet their agencies work zone management needs.

Road Weather Spotlight: Moving Towards a More Connected & Automated Future, FHWA

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Road Weather Management Program (RWMP) is launching the Road Weather Spotlight, a monthly webinar series discussing challenges of various road weather events, lessons learned, and practical solutions. Consultant Billing Rate Training, ODOT Procurement
August 16; 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm: virtual online training
In this live training presentation, you will learn the process for establishing billing rates with ODOT, ODOT billing rate policy requirements, components of and difference between Escalated Salary Rate Schedule (ESR) and Negotiated Billing Rate Schedule (NBR), resources and more. This training will provide you with the information to understand when and why ODOT billing rates are required, how they are applied during negotiations, and contract administration responsibilities.

Contract Administration Core Curriculum Training, FHWA
October 25-26 and October 27-28; all day: ODOT District 5 Office at 2080 Laura Street, Springfield
Registration for the October 2022 sessions of the FHWA Contract Administration Core Curriculum is now open! This training will take place in Springfield at the ODOT District 5 office (2080 Laura St.). Session 1 is October 25-26 and Session 2 is October 27-28. The information covered at both sessions will be identical, so you only need to register for one of the sessions.
The purpose of this course is to explain basic Federal-aid requirements; promote awareness of FHWA policy; facilitate familiarity with the newly reorganized, revised, and expanded CACC manual; and allow supervised practice activities using the manual to find information. By engaging in a variety of in-class exercises and case studies, participants will become familiar with the CACC Manual and learn how to best use it as a daily resource.

Specifications Legalese, ODOT Project Controls Office
Virtual online training always available
This 20-minute webinar covers ODOT contract parts, ODOT’s exemption letter from DOJ, and how this affects the process ODOT uses to produce special provisions for a project. There are additional Specifications related trainings available in Workday Learning which we will highlight over the next few months. While the trainings are ODOT focused, the trainings will help Certified LPA staff understand how ODOT develops specifications and why the Certification Program Office provides the types of feedback it does on Certified LPA specifications.
