Emergency Order Granting Suspension of Certain Motor Carrier Regulations in Response to Oregon Wildfire Activity

Due to wildfire activity in Oregon, Governor Brown has declared a state of emergency (Executive Order No. 21-17). Therefore, to expedite the movement of essential equipment, supplies and services to protect the health and safety of Oregonians, ODOT has issued an emergency suspension of some motor carrier laws for those vehicles providing such supplies and services.

This suspension of certain regulations applies only to vehicles providing essential equipment, supplies and services to fight Oregon wildfires and to support relief/recovery efforts.

Please find and review the full emergency declaration online here.  Print a copy of the declaration, as this document serves as the permit for loads operating on legal axle weights up to 105,500 that do not already have an annual permit to operate on the interstate and state highways in Oregon. Remember: Please carry a copy of this declaration in your vehicle.
