September 2020
However you decide to celebrate the Labor Day holiday weekend this year, remember to plan a sober ride home before you leave for the party or campground. The 2020 national enforcement mobilization "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" goes into effect across the country Aug. 19 to Sept. 7 to raise awareness about one of the deadliest and most often committed - yet preventable - traffic safety issues. This weekend, travelers should expect heavy and slow traffic, especially at the beginning and end of the weekend as many people travel between the Coast and Willamette Valley. Celebrate Labor Day, but celebrate safely.

Many times these low cost, low margin projects are done by state or county road departments. Sometimes, such as in southern Oregon, they join forces to get the most out of limited roadway maintenance funds.
