Happy November TIM Champions!

In case you didn’t know, National Traffic Incident Response Awareness Week begins this Sunday, November 10-16.

It’s a time for all of us to celebrate the hard work we’ve done this year to keep each other safe, as well as reflect on what we can do moving forward.

Earlier this year, the Federal Highway Administration challenged us to reach 45% of responders trained by the end of 2019. Over the past several months, our TIM trainers have dedicated their time and effort to train 161 responders, putting us at roughly 25%.

While we may not reach the full 45% by the end of the year, we are moving steadily in the right direction. And we owe a big “thank you” to everyone who helped train and those who took the training. You make a huge difference for our fellow responders.

We’re using National TIM Week to promote TIM training and get as many responders trained in life-saving best practices as possible. Some things you can do to help:

  • Share our TIM Training video broadly. And when you see training opportunities on Facebook, consider liking and sharing them. You never know who might see them.
  • Be sure to sign up for a TIM class and bring a friend. We have several trainings on the books (see below). Plus, you can always schedule/host your own by emailing Justin at timtraining@odot.state.or.us.

Training together is one of the most important things we can do as responders to ensure we have safe, quick clearance – and go home safe. Please help us spread the word this National Traffic Incident Response Awareness Week.

We hope to see you at one of these trainings,
