POSTPONED: I-105 6th Avenue on-ramp closure

Ramp will NOT close on Monday, March 18

Eugene – The 6th Avenue on-ramp to eastbound I-105 will remain open next week, and will NOT close for construction on Monday, March 18, as advertised earlier.

ODOT will close all four 6th and 7th Avenue on and off ramps at some point in the future and we will announce that well in advance.

During final review of contractor Wildish Standard Paving Company's construction schedules for the closure, ODOT determined that the planned work might not be completed in the six weeks that had been announced. In order to ensure the least amount of travel disruption to the community, ODOT decided to postpone the ramp closure until a schedule can be agreed upon.

Work that does not require the road to be fully closed and can be done with lane closures, such as bridge rail replacement and bridge joint replacement, will continue.

Travelers should expect lane closures and shifts in traffic patterns in the construction zone. Slow down, pay attention, and keep your mind on the drive.

The Interstate 105 (Washington/Jefferson Street Bridge) Bridge Repair Project is bringing bridges and ramps between Delta Highway and downtown Eugene up to current standards. The bridges were built in the late 1960s and early 1970s and need repair and upgrades. Work includes new guardrail, deck paving, seismic retrofits, joint replacements, and other repairs.
