AV Task Force Subcommittee on Insurance and Liability to meet July 9

Salem, Oregon – The Subcommittee on Insurance and Liability will hold a phone meeting July 9 in Salem to approve recommendations to go before the Oregon Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles on July 12. 

The schedule for these meetings is:

  • Insurance and liability subcommittee additional meeting: 11 a.m.-noon Monday, July 9 at Oregon Department of Transportation, 355 Capitol St. NE, Salem, OR 97301 (Room 340). This meeting will be hosted via conference call. The public and interested parties can attend in person at Room 340 or email OregonAVTaskForce@odot.state.or.us to request a call-in number to listen to the meeting and speak during the public comment portion of the meeting. 
  • Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles meeting: 1 p.m.-3 p.m. July 12 in room 101 at the Chemeketa Center for Business and Industry (CCBI) in Salem.

The task force was created by House Bill 4063 and names 31 stakeholders as members, including four legislators, state agency representatives, law enforcement, truck and automobile interests, technology company representatives, consumer interests, worker interests and more. The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles will report to the legislature with recommendations for legislation by Sept. 15, 2018.

The agendas for both meetings will include time for public comment, which can also be submitted via email to OregonAVTaskForce@odot.state.or.us.
