Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles to meet July 12

Licensing and registration subcommittee adds additional meeting June 28

Salem, Oregon – The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles will meet July 12 in Salem. In addition, the task force's Subcommittee on Licensing and Registration has added a meeting June 28 in Salem. The schedule for these meetings is:

  • Licensing and registration subcommittee additional meeting: 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 28 at Oregon Department of Transportation, 355 Capitol St. NE, Salem, OR 97301 (Room 103).
  • Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles meeting: 1 p.m.-3 p.m. July 12 in room 101 at the Chemeketa Center for Business and Industry (CCBI) in Salem.

The task force was created by House Bill 4063 and names 31 stakeholders as members, including four legislators, state agency representatives, law enforcement, truck and automobile interests, technology company representatives, consumer interests, worker interests and more. The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles will report to the legislature with recommendations for legislation by Sept. 15, 2018.

The agendas for both meetings will include time for public comment, which can also be submitted via email to OregonAVTaskForce@odot.state.or.us.
