Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles subcommittees to meet May 30 and June 6

Salem, Oregon – Subcommittees for the Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles will meet May 30 and June 6 in Salem. The schedule for the first round of meetings is:

  • Licensing and registration subcommittee meeting: 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30 at Oregon Department of Transportation, 355 Capitol St. NE, Salem, OR 97301 (Room 340).
  • Cybersecurity and long-term policy subcommittee meeting: 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 at Oregon Department of Transportation, 355 Capitol St. NE, Salem, OR 97301 (Room 103).
  • Law enforcement and crash reporting subcommittee meeting: 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6 at Oregon Department of Transportation, 355 Capitol St. NE, Salem, OR 97301 (Room 103).
  • Insurance and liability subcommittee meeting: 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6 at Oregon Department of Transportation, 355 Capitol St. NE, Salem, OR 97301 (Room 103).

The task force was created by House Bill 4063 and names 31 stakeholders as members, including four legislators, state agency representatives, law enforcement, truck and automobile interests, technology company representatives, consumer interests, worker interests and more. The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles will report to the legislature with recommendations for legislation by Sept. 15, 2018.

The agenda will include time for public comment, which can also be submitted via email to OregonAVTaskForce@odot.state.or.us.
