Salem, Oregon – The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles will hold its second meeting on May 23 in Salem.
The task force was created by House Bill 4063 and names 31 stakeholders as members, including four legislators, state agency representatives, law enforcement, truck and automobile interests, technology company representatives, consumer interests, worker interests and more.
The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles is studying such issues as how autonomous vehicles intersect with licensing and registration, insurance and liability, law enforcement and accident reporting, and cybersecurity. The task force will report to the legislature with recommendations for legislation by Sept. 15, 2018.
The meeting will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon on May 23 in Training Rooms A/B at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E., in Salem. Members of the task force will participate in interactive discussion and scoping exercises relating to subcommittee topics. The agenda will include time for public comment, which can also be submitted via email to OregonAVTaskForce@odot.state.or.us.
