Central Oregon Road Construction UPDATE: Week of June 20, 2016

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is continuing to invest in Oregon’s future with roadway improvement projects throughout Oregon’s central region (ODOT Region 4). ODOT is committed to providing a safe, efficient transportation system. The following projects reflect ODOT’s commitment to make improvements as traffic numbers rise and to make the roadways safer and more efficient for drivers. All work is dependent on weather conditions. Red denotes new or updated information.

 

DESCHUTES COUNTY

 

US 97: Romaine Village Way to Lava Butte

 

Construct widening of west side shoulder, slopes, install median barrier, and paving.

 

(Traffic configuration for the July 4th holiday weekend will be:

 

One southbound lane to accommodate construction project and two northbound lanes)

 

 

For the week of June 27th, 2016. Contractor is removing asphalt intermittently on the West shoulder of the South bound lanes to prepare for the widening. Excavation and embankment work will be on the west shoulder. South bound right lane closure will remain in place into August.

 

US97 @ Wickiup Jct. (La Pine)

Project Consists of Bridge, Earthwork, and Drainage along US97.

 

For the week of June 27th, 2016. Contractor continuing to place embankment on the East and West side of the BNSF tracks on the new mainline alignment all week. Contractor to pour concrete for Bent 1 footing on Tuesday.

Region 4 HSIP Transition Urban The Dalles, Bend & Klamath Falls

Signal work.

 

For the week of June 27th, 2016. Contractor installing new vehicle signal heads and backboards on Washburn Way in Klamath Falls between Shasta Way and Laverne Ave. Flaggers will control traffic at intersections.

 

 

US97 J Street Intersection (Madras South Y) Sec.

 

For the week of June 27th, 2016. Contractor to perform plant establishment work.

KLAMATH COUNTY

OR 140: Ritter Rd. – Deer Run Rd. (Bly Mtn.)

This project will reconstruct 9.2 miles of OR 140 in the Bly Mountain area (from Ritter Road to Deer Run Road). The intersection of OR 140 and the Bly Mountain Cutoff Road will be realigned.

 

Excavation, Embankment, Aggregate Base placement, sign installation and shoulder work. One lane traffic controlled by flaggers and pilot cars 24 hours / 7 days a week. Expect delays up to 20 minutes.

LAKE COUNTY

US395: Alkali Lake – Lake Abert

Signs, delineators and shoulder work. One lane traffic controlled by flaggers and pilot cars. Expect delays up to 20 minutes.

WASCO COUNTY

I-84: The Dalles – Fifteenmile Creek

Project consists of concrete paving and bridge construction on I84 within the city limits of The Dalles.

 

For the week of June 27th, 2016. The contractor will be performing miscellanous punchlist work throughout the workzone.

 

I-84 is reduced to a single lane in both the east and westbound direction. Speeds have been reduced to 50mph through the construction zone.

I-84: Mosier to The Dalles

Project consists of paving, and the installation of new median barrier.

 

For the week of June 27th, 2016. The Contractor will be installing new median barrier.

 

I-84 will be reduced to a single lane in both the east and westbound direction. Speeds have been reduced to 50mph through the construction zone. Work hours: Sunday 7pm to Friday 11am.

US 97: Moro to Madras

KERR Contractors will be replacing 29 miles of pavement on U.S. 97 between Grass Valley (MP 27.1) and Shaniko (MP 56.7). The project also includes the construction of passing lanes between MP 43.8 and MP 45.4, installation of new highway signs between Moro and Madras, and adding ADA compliant sidewalk ramps in Grass Valley.

 

For the week of June 27th, 2016. The Contractor will be performing final punchlist work on the project.

 

Both NB and SB lanes will be controlled by flagger and pilot cars through the work zone. Expect delays under 20 minutes.
