The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is continuing to invest in Oregon’s future with roadway improvement projects throughout Oregon’s central region (ODOT Region 4). ODOT is committed to providing a safe, efficient transportation system. The following projects reflect ODOT’s commitment to make improvements as traffic numbers rise and to make the roadways safer and more efficient for drivers.  All work is dependent on weather conditions. Red denotes new or updated information.

 

DESCHUTES COUNTY

US97 @ Wickiup Jct. (La Pine)

Project Consists of Bridge, Earthwork, and Drainage along US97.

For the week of May 23rd, 2016. Contractor continuing to place embankment on the East and West side of the BNSF tracks on the new mainline alignment. Contractor to form and pour a portion of bent 1 crash wall on Monday and Thursday. The contractor has completed MSE wall 2 and will begin forming and tying rebar for bent 3 footing.

Region 4 HSIP Transition Urban The Dalles, Bend & Klamath Falls

Signal work.

For the week of May 23rd, 2016. Contractor to perform signal work on 3rd street at both Powers and Reed Lane . Contractor replacing signal heads and backboards. Signals will be turned off and placed under flagger control.

 

Sunriver to Lava Butte Multi-Use Path Project

Construction of a Multi-Use Paved Path from Cascade Road in Sunriver to Benham East Day Use Area and Lava Lands Visitor Center.

No work this week.

 

Region 4 Centerline Rumble Strip Project

Rumble strips and striping various location in Region 4. For the week of May 23rd, 2016. Work scheduled to begin May 23rd on US197 then progress to OR126, US97, US26 respectively. Restricted to one lane of traffic thru work zone. Will use flaggers and pilot car to direct traffic.

 

US 97: Romaine Village Way to Lava Butte

Conduct widening of West side shoulder, Slopes, Median Barrier, and Paving. For the week of May 23rd, 2016. Contractor to begin widening the west shoulder starting Wednesday May 25th, 2016. South Bound Slow lane will be closed for the duration of the widening.

KLAMATH COUNTY

OR 140: Ritter Rd. – Deer Run Rd. (Bly Mtn.)

This project will reconstruct 9.2 miles of OR 140 in the Bly Mountain area (from Ritter Road to Deer Run Road).  The intersection of OR 140 and the Bly Mountain Cutoff Road will be realigned.

Excavation, embankment, aggregate base placement, sign installation and shoulder work. One lane traffic controlled by flaggers and pilot cars 24 hours / 7 days a week. Expect delays up to 20 minutes.

LAKE  COUNTY

US395: Alkali Lake – Lake Abert

Rumble strip, striping, signs, delineator installation and shoulder work. One lane traffic controlled by flaggers and pilot cars. Expect delays up to 20 minutes.

WASCO COUNTY

I-84: The Dalles – Fifteenmile Creek 

Project consists of concrete paving and bridge construction on I84 within the city limits of The Dalles.

For the week of May 23rd, 2016. The contractor will be painting and installing barrier, striping, installing rumble strips and adjusting guardrail. The contractor will also be asphalt paving I84 Westbound Exit 87 on & off ramps and the I84 median. The Ramp paving will occur at night from 10pm-5am on May 23rd & 24th, the ramps will be closed during paving.

I-84 is reduced to a single lane in both the east and westbound direction. Speeds have been reduced to 50mph through the construction zone.

I-84: Mosier to The Dalles

Project consists of paving, and the installation of new median barrier.

For the week of May 23rd, 2016. The Contractor will not be performing any work this week.

I-84 will be reduced to a single lane in both the east and westbound direction. Speeds have been reduced to 50mph through the construction zone. Work hours: Sunday 7pm to Friday 11am.

US 97: Moro to Madras

KERR Contractors will be replacing 29 miles of pavement on U.S. 97 between Grass Valley (MP 27.1) and Shaniko (MP 56.7). The project also includes the construction of passing lanes between MP 43.8 and MP 45.4, installation of new highway signs between Moro and Madras, and adding ADA compliant sidewalk ramps in Grass Valley.

For the week of May 23rd, 2016. The Contractor will continue installing a new asphalt surface at approx. MP50- MP57. The Contractor will also be installing rumble strips and striping at approx. MP37- MP57.

Both NB and SB lanes will be controlled by flagger and pilot cars through the work zone. Expect delays under 20 minutes.
