Please share the following information with any partners and colleagues who may need to know what to do in order to qualify for the temporary 2-year primary care rate increase from Oregon Medicaid (DMAP).

Thank you for helping us share this information with as many individual physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners as possible.

As you may know, in November, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that practitioners who meet their new definition of primary care provider would see an increased Medicaid reimbursement rate for two years under section 1202 of the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Providers who bill the Division of Medical Assistance Programs (DMAP) can now self-attest to qualifying for the temporary 2-year primary care provider rate increase and begin receiving the increased fee-for-service (FFS) reimbursement rate on or after April 1, 2013 (date contingent on federal approval).

To qualify for the increased FFS rate for services rendered on or after Jan. 1, 2013, providers must submit their attestations to DMAP by Mar. 31, 2013. To learn more:

  1. Read our provider letter about DMAP’s self-attestation process.
  2. Visit the new ACA Primary Care Reimbursement Changes website. In addition to the attestation form, the new website also features a fact sheet and resources for more information.
  3. Attend one of DMAP’s free webinars - Wednesday, Feb. 20, or Thursday, Feb. 21. Both webinars run from 10 to 11 a.m.
