Welcome Readers

Welcome to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) COVID-19 Therapeutics Newsletter!

The purpose of this newsletter is for our team to stay connected with Oregon. We aim to keep you up to date on all things COVID-19 therapeutics, events, equity, inclusion, and provide additional resources. OHA is committed to equity and increasing access to COVID-19 treatments for Oregonians who need it.

COVID-19 Therapeutics Updates

Test to Treat (T2T)

The Test to Treat (T2T) program connects eligible people who are at high risk of severe COVID-19, to treatments. These locations provide access for people to get tested, receive a prescription from a healthcare provider, and fill that prescription, all at one place. The Test to Treat (T2T) Locator helps you find places that provide these services.

In the past month, the following sites have been added to the T2T program:

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)

• Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center in Hillsboro
• One Community Health in Hood River
• One Community Health in The Dalles
• Valley Family Health Care in Ontario
• Valley Family in Nyssa
• Valley Family in Vale

Urgent Cares

• St. Charles Urgent Care in Prineville
• St. Charles Urgent Care in Bend
• St. Charles Urgent Care in La Pine

Please check the site often as sites continue to be added.

For additional support locating a Test to Treat site, call 1 (800) 232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489) to get help in English, Spanish, and more than 150 other languages.

Transportation Support

Many Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) offer transportation services. Join our upcoming English webinar on July 29^th at noon or our Spanish webinar at 1:30pm for more information. Links to register can be found under the Events section.

Oregon Health Plan (OHP)

Folks can get treatment for little to no cost. As of July 1^st, 2022, more adults are now eligible for benefits and other services, regardless of their immigration status. You can visit the Healthier Oregon website to learn more or view the Healthier Oregon FAQ.

You can also visit Oregon Health Plan (OHP) webpage for information on eligibility and how to apply. Enrollment is always open and Medicare and private health insurance plans have open enrollment in the fall. If you are unsure if OHP is right for you, you can go to OregonHealthCare.gov to help you find the application that works best for you and your family.

Allocation Data

What is Allocation?

The federal government chooses how much COVID-19 treatments each state receives. OHA then decides which sites in Oregon receive treatment and how much.

Oregon is split into smaller regions that have counties within it. The map shows how Oregon is separated and can give a better picture on what counties are in each region.

The table shows how many of each treatment OHA allocated to sites within Oregon in the last month. Please note that this only shows what OHA has allocated and does not include amounts provided to pharmacies by the federal government.

Statewide Allocations (06/01/2022 – 06/30/2022)

*Evusheld is used to prevent COVID-19 infection in people who have moderate to severe immune compromise due to a medical condition or can’t get the vaccine due to medical reasons.

The federal government requires all states to share certain information about treatment administration. Currently, they require information about allocations, distribution, and daily utilization. The federal government does not require states to collect information about treatment administration based on race and ethnicity, therefore, OHA cannot provide this information.

Remdesivir is also a treatment of COVID-19 infection for adult and pediatric patients. Please note that this medication has commercial distribution and OHA do not allocate this medicine.

Independence Day – Celebrated on July 4, this holiday represents the day in American history that the United States officially became its own nation.

Eid al-Adha – July 9th is a Muslim holiday that is a reminder of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to God (Allah) when given the difficult task of sacrificing his son, Ismail. It honors Ibrahim’s commitment to Allah and Ismail’s survival.

International Nelson Mandela Day – Celebrated on Nelson Mandela’s birthday, July 18 sheds light on his commitment to human rights, advocacy for equality, sacrifice of his freedom, and iconic triumph over South Africa’s apartheid regime.
