OHA now offers a $60 add-on fee to support the cost of arranging interpreter services at fee-for-service health care visits covered by the Oregon Health Plan.
- This fee became effective Jan. 1, 2021, and OHA is seeking federal approval to make the fee permanent.
- Providers can bill OHA for this fee as an added detail line when billing for the covered health care visit.
Under your provider enrollment agreement with OHA, you agree to follow all pertinent state and federal laws, including civil rights laws, as a condition of payment. This includes ensuring all services, including telehealth/telemedicine services, preserve meaningful access to language services as required by law, such as but not limited to:
- American Sign Language interpretation services to individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and
- Spoken language interpretation services for individuals with limited English proficiency.
OHA has updated the OHP 729 form to ensure the form is automatically emailed to OHA and the administrative examination provider upon completion by the requesting OHA, Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) or Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) program.
In order to view the completed form, providers will need to save the file to their computer and open it as follows:
This change will ensure OHA has completed OHP 729 forms on file when reviewing suspended administrative exam claims.
- When you receive a copy of this form, this means you do not need to email OHA the form.
- Please continue to email OHA authorizations you receive on older versions of the OHP 729 form as described in our May 2021 program updates.
- For all administrative examinations, please do not schedule with the client until you have received a copy of the completed OHP 729 form.
Starting 9/1/2021, all OHA, ODHS and OYA programs will only use the updated OHP 729 form.
