New survey asks for provider feedback about health care interpretation
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) invites all Oregon Medicaid health care providers to provide feedback about their experience using health care interpretation services.
If your location uses interpretation services, please have the person most knowledgeable about these services complete the survey. If your location does not use these services, please complete the survey to tell us why.
Your response will help OHA identify opportunities to improve the quality, availability and use of health care interpreters across the state.
The survey closes on November 16, 2018.
The survey link will also be available on the OHA Office of Equity and Inclusion website.
Questions? Please contact Kweku Wilson, Health Care Interpretation program coordinator at hci.program@dhsoha.state.or.us or 971-673-3328.
The Chronic Pain Task Force and OHA staff listen to public input about treatment recommendations
At the Sept. 20 meeting, the task force received public comment and advised OHA staff on the additional information they’d like to consider in this process.
While the initial focus of the task force was to propose Oregon Health Plan coverage of evidence-based, non-pharmacological alternatives for chronic pain treatment, public input has focused on opioid coverage. In response, OHA made the following changes so that the task force could fully consider public input in informed manner:
- Added experts in chronic pain care, opioid prescribing, substance use disorder and pharmacy coverage as task force members;
- Solicited expert testimony;
- Requested an updated evidence review on opioid tapering by OHSU; and
- Requested input from CCOs.
In December, the task force will have the opportunity to consider these new pieces of information and how they may impact their recommendation to the HERC.
To keep informed: Visit the HERC website for meeting schedules, agendas and materials.
To comment on proposed changes: Send written comments to herc.info@dhsoha.state.or.us. HERC will receive verbal comments in person at the meetings.
