Roadkills of Oregon Project
The purpose of this project is to help us understand the impacts roads have on Oregon's wildlife, and to identify roadkill hot spots and vulnerabilities among different wildlife species. This information can help make roadways safer and reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions. Help us help wildlife across the state. Learn more and share your observations of roadkills with ODFW’s iNaturalist project today.

Submit Controlled and Premium Hunt Applications
Apply early so the May 15th deadline doesn’t sneak up on you. If you are interested in nearly all rifle hunting opportunities or many archery hunts in eastern Oregon then you’ll want to submit a controlled hunt application. Don’t pass up premium hunts this year either. Premium hunts offer additional opportunities to score a desired hunt as they don’t use preference points, provide extended hunt seasons, and you can hunt during the rut.

Regulation Reminders
Mandatory Reporting: All hunts ending between Jan. 1 and March 31 of that year must report by April 15, 2024. All hunters who report on time are entered to win a special big game tag with hunting privileges similar to auction and raffle tags. ODFW draws three winners each year. Winners can choose to hunt deer, elk or pronghorn in an expanded hunt area and for an extended season. Read more.
Rogue-South Coast steelhead anglers: reminder the winter steelhead season closes April 30 in this area. If you harvested a wild winter steelhead, you must return or report paper tags after the season ends (and before the next season begins Dec. 1). More info here.
