MyODFW app problems for users with iPhone 6 and earlier due to old Apple operating system

ODFW has learned that MyODFW app users with an iPhone 6, iPhone 5 or earlier are having problems using the app, including not being able to validate tags or sync new purchases.

This is because these older phones are running on an operating system (iOS 12) that is no longer supported by Apple. Only iPhone 6S and newer iPhones can run iOS 13 or newer Apple operating systems.

As Apple is no longer supporting iOS12, those phones on this older operating system will experience issues with the MyODFW app. This is a problem not just for the MyODFW app but for other apps. Apps are only designed to work with industry supported operating systems and the phones that will run them.

ODFW customers with an older iPhone who are experiencing problems should contact ODFW at (503) 947-6101, odfw.websales@state.or.us, or their local ODFW Office for help validating tags for any fish or wildlife they have already harvested.

Customers who cannot upgrade to the newer operating system (iOS 13, 14 or 14.1) should switch to paper tags as this problem will not be fixed by Apple. To switch to paper, login to your account on a browser and go to Your Account/Your Profile and edit your tag validating preference under Account Information.
