Oregon Public Sector Cybersecurity Summit

EIS is seeking participants to serve on a Rules Advisory Committee to recommend updates to the OAR 128-040-0005, Oregon's Enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) Software Standard.

New privacy and communications leadership
Michael Hanna-Butros Meyering has joined EIS as Chief Privacy and Communications Officer. Nik Blosser will focus fully on artificial intelligence as Chief AI Officer, giving both areas dedicated executive attention.

Flights underway for statewide imagery
Flights for Oregon's 2026 statewide aerial imagery acquisition will continue through August. The multi-agency Oregon Statewide Imagery Program, formalized in 2016, expects the new imagery to be available in early 2027.

The University of Oregon's Teaching Security Operations Center (TSOC) trains the next generation of cybersecurity professionals while providing managed cybersecurity services at low or no cost.

Data Equity Summit Registration is open
The free, virtual summit, Building Sustainable Data Equity Practices, on Oct. 27–28 will explore equity-informed data governance practices and responsible approaches with artificial intelligence, which are essential to ensuring fair, effective services for all Oregonians. The summit is for people who gather program applicants' data, data analysts, managers and anyone who works with data around the state. ASL and CART services will be available.

ODOT recognized for GIS modernization
Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) received a 2026 Special Achievement in GIS Award for modernizing its enterprise GIS environment and roadway data. The work improves data quality, reduces duplication, and supports location-based decisions.
