Project update

In last month's eNewsletter, we shared there was a delay in the Go-live for Wave 1. This delay is due to a recent system test that showed changes are needed to make the OregonBuys system meet state requirements.

We're currently working with our vendor to address the changes. Once the work is complete, we'll run another system test. The test results will then go to our Executive Steering Committee so they can evaluate and determine the next steps for Waves 1 and 2.

We look forward to sharing the next steps with you in the coming weeks.

Lastly, we want to acknowledge this delay is frustrating for everyone who worked hard to get to this point. Please know we're doing everything possible to resolve this matter promptly — we appreciate your continued patience.

Training and resources are available

We encourage Wave 1 state agency staff to keep up their system knowledge by taking self-guided training modules and reviewing system guides on our website.   The TRAIN environment is also available for those who want to try system scenarios. If you're a Wave 1 agency staff member and need access to the TRAIN environment, contact your OregonBuys Organization Administrator or email us at OregonBuys.info@das.oregon.gov.

Wave 2 agency information

We canceled the July 6 Get Ready Forum and will reschedule once we know more about the next project steps.

In the meantime, Wave 2 agencies can get prepared by reviewing the system terminology crosswalk, and by doing the following:

• Expand your agency core team to include members from accounts payable, budget, and purchasing. Visit this link for a description of core team duties.
• Update your core team members list on the project website.
