Project update

The month of October was productive for the project team. We completed enterprise process design work by capturing existing state processes and outlining how they transfer to OregonBuys. Volunteers from the following 13 agencies participated in the work and we are grateful for their collaboration and partnership:

We also held kickoff meetings for the 25 agencies enrolled in Wave 1. Next up, we'll be working with Wave 1 agency Organization Administrators (OAs) by offering refresher training and work sessions for upcoming data collection tasks.

Who is affected by OregonBuys?

OregonBuys is the enterprise system state agencies will use to capture all procurement-related spend. The first phase of the project focused solely on procurement activities. However, in Phase II the system's functionality expands. This added functionality means more agency staff are affected.

When state agencies go through their selected wave in Phase II, staff doing the following activities will be affected: Anyone purchasing goods or services, staff who work with Procurements, and those who create or process requisitions (requests), purchase orders, invoicing, and receiving related to Procurements.

State agencies may also need to adjust business processes to fit the OregonBuys system.

In-person events are back, and OregonBuys has a booth at the 2021 Oregon Public Purchasing Association (OPPA) Reverse Vendor Trade Show.

We're also attending OPPA's Fall Training and Vendor Showcase and doing a November 4 session called "Get to know OregonBuys." If you're attending the event in person, we hope you'll stop by and see us!
