December was a month filled with project activities! We’re happy to share that the Steering Committee conditionally approved the project's baseline milestone schedule and we started core team orientation sessions for large, medium, and some small-sized agencies.
We’ve met with nine agency core teams so far and orientations will continue through February. These sessions provide an overview of Phase 1 work, change management activities, system functions, and include a question and answer session.
Our team is now continuing efforts on building a training program for state agencies with 49 role-based courses. We're also continuing outreach to Statewide Price Agreement vendors to set up registrations and upload catalogs into OregonBuys.
Looking forward to 2021, here are some key dates that you'll hear more from us on in the new year as we work together towards replacing the Oregon Procurement Information Network (ORPIN):
- June 16, 2021* ORPIN switches to read-only.
-
June 16 - 30, 2021* ORPIN is in a blackout period. Processing documents is on hold as ORPIN is in read-only and OregonBuys prepares to launch.
-
July 1, 2021 ORPIN Replacement goes live. All state agencies and Oregon Cooperative Procurement Program (OrCPP) members begin using the new system to process Procurement documents on this date.
*Date recently updated to reflect a shorter blackout period.
As 2020 comes to a close, we want to wish you happy holidays and a healthy New Year! We look forward to engaging with you again in 2021.
OregonBuys: One unified system — modernizing state procurement
We've developed a guidance document to help state agencies understand how to manage in-process procurement documents as we prepare for the switch to OregonBuys.
This guidance includes key dates and scenarios so that state agencies can start preparing now.
|
In the coming months, we'll begin offering training to state agencies so they know how to accomplish the tasks in the guidance. Stay tuned here for more information.
In mid-January, we’ll announce the dates for open wave enrollment to state agencies.
"Wave enrollment" is a process state agencies will use to sign up for a wave time frame that works best for their agency to go through the Phase 2 implementation of OregonBuys.
We'll announce these dates and enrollment instructions in our eNewsletter and through state listservs and distribution lists, including Designated Procurement Officers (DPO), Administrative Business Services Directors (ABSD), Statewide Accounts Receivables News, and Large and Small Agency Directors.

Our team is working from two lists as we build the organizations that will use the OregonBuys system. These lists also identify who is affected by the project.
Please review the two lists below to see if your agency or organization is affected:
If your agency or organization isn't listed and you want to be included, please contact us at oregonbuys.info@oregon.gov.
